Frank Kang and Baker Hardwoods

 

Frank Kang is a furniture maker who has built a number of pieces using our thick wooden slabs. We are highlighting a few of his splended pieces below.

Frank lives in the San Francisco Bay region, in an area known as the East Bay. He has been building custom furniture for over fifteen years. His work is known for design is simplicity and uncommonly detailed craftmanship that reveals beauty of the wood in a new form.

In addition to the benches and tables we have shown Frank has made a number of tansus, cabinets, and tables. Contact us if you would like to know more about Frank's work.

The butterfly joints used on the table top are both decorative and they bind the crotch grain.


View of a "simple" stool. The dimensions are roughly 14 in. x 30 in. x 17 in. While the stool is simple the joinery must work to give this balance.
